Whatsapp, Gtalk and Much more..

Not so long ago, I mean 4-5 years back we used to communicate with just mails. Then came the 'era' of chatting. That time the only communicators available were Yahoo chat, and Skype. Later, Google came with inbuilt chat in GMail. (Pardon me, if the sequence is wrong).

But a couple of years ago, Google jumped in the mobile sector and brought their phones under the name 'Android'. Of course, Google gave its GMail and Google Talk inbuilt in them. This OS became much popular and people were 'Online' on the go. Now they got 'connected'.

But with the invent of this Google Play Store (Market, Previously) there are so many apps available for users, free. Recently one communicator is making a boom. That's Whatsapp!

This app is available on various platforms like Android, iOS, Symbian and many others. The good thing is, this app does not need any email ID or login. Just enter your phone number and that's it. It scans for contacts in your phone and detects who else in your contacts has this app. It adds them in yours.

 What's special about this app? Well, this allows you to chat, has a variety of emoticons, allows you to send pics, small videos and voice messages! Impressive, but what's the big deal?

Even Google talk, which is inbuilt, gives you the option of Voice chat (remember, this is kinda real-time), Video Chat! So, I wonder why do people use Whatsapp when they have Google Talk inbuilt?

May be they don't wanna go online on Google Talk because their managers or TL's would see them online. Okay? But many people who use Whatsapp seem to be online on Google Talk too. What about them? I feel that's a mystery. Or may be they wanna use something different, unconventional which gives them feel of using high-tech apps :P

But really, Whatsapp is kind of annoying for me. If you compare it with Google Talk, I find it worse. Why would someone use a communicator which takes more than 10-15 seconds to deliver a message? The same message can be delivered by GTalk instantly! Moreover, you use it for voice messages.. Come on! You can use GTalk to have a voice chat just like a phone call!!

Today I felt like Whatsapp should really think of building it's own OS and convincing phone manufacturers to make models hereafter. You'll see the same thing as my google status set today morning :)
